Andrea Erickson

Title: Managing Director, Water Security, The Nature Conservancy

Andrea Erickson currently serves as Managing Director, Water Security for The Nature Conservancy's global Water Funds and Water Markets teams. Before taking on this role, she was the Conservancy's Wyoming State Director from 2005 to 2015. There, she focused on the Conservancy’s collaborative efforts with agriculture, the energy industry and public agencies. Andrea and her team piloted the first Energy by Design projects that guided $24 million of mitigation investment in Wyoming.

Her prior work with the Conservancy included seven years in Mexico where she directed conservation programs in four states and developed public and private partnerships contributing to the protection and management of over 4 million acres of land and water. Her final project in Mexico was the Calakmul acquisition of 365,000 acres of forested land that was placed under protection with the Mexican National Protected Areas Commission. Andrea started with the Conservancy as a Population and Environment Fellow, placed on the Galapagos Islands where she worked with ranchers and fishermen. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University and has a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge in Environmental Policy and Economic Development.
